Anna Winstanley MCSP

Anna qualified as a physiotherapist from York St John college in 2005. After qualifying she worked in the NHS, treating a diverse range of patient groups both with York Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust. She then chose to specialise in musculo-skeletal physiotherapy, treating patients with neck and back pain, sporting injuries and rheumatological conditions. Anna gained Pilates qualifications with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) and has incorporated her Pilates training into her rehabilitation programmes. She is competent in teaching classes for general populations as well modifying and advising clients who are elderly, pregnant, or those having specific joint problems, back pain and hypermobility-related problems. She is founder and principal therapist at Base Physio in York and also provides physio at adventure sporting events with Athletes Angels. Anna strongly believes in helping her clients to understand their own bodies, thereby promoting self-management.

Away from work, Anna has many passions including hill walking, cycling, camping and gardening.

Anna is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP), the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Exercises Therapy (ACPET), APPI and PhysioFirst.
